Hello all,

I am an experienced English teacher. Taught and traveled more than 25 countries world wide and would like to share some of my travel experience with other teachers and travelers. I would like to start with Oman the last place I taught ESL.  Oman is a very interesting place and can offer you lots of historical places, such as, forts, old markets (souq), many traditional items. It has many beaches and it is a blend of old and modern. From the expencieve hotels to the cheap ones. Depending on your budget you can pretty much find what you suit your needs. The food is a veriety of cultures combined, like Indian, Chineese, Arabis, Mid-east, far east, and more. The night life is great in Muscat and the sourrounding areas, clubing, and shopping, and dinning out. The mountains in Oman are very exciting and fun, you can hire or buy a 4wd and explore the great mountains od Oman and the scenary is amazing. you can also camp and do bbqs, and some areas they allow snorkelling and diving.  Boat cruises are available in Oman and very reasoable prices. In the summer it is hot and the winter, spring and fall are good conditions.  Transportation is good and cheap, but most people prefer to buy or hire thier own car or vehical.

The people of oman are very friendly and kind. They are generious, and love to chat with you. As a teacher I find the Omani students are very keen and interested in other cultures.

I think Oman is one of the best place to teach In the GCC area as it is not too busy and not too empty. The people make your life easy and like to learn from you. The country is beautiful and lovely compared with rest of the GCC area.

Cheers

Ric
